St George’s Church is available for bookings as an event venue; however all bookings are subject application and are ultimately at the discretion of the church leadership team.
Because the Church is primarily a place of worship, church activities may take precedence over bookings. For this reason, during the year, certain weekends are unavailable, along with a proportion of Saturday nights.
This information is provided to outline the church’s position; it is certainly not our intention to discourage potential users from submitting an application for hire.
Once an application is submitted, we will aim to respond within 7 working days. However, this may take longer if further clarification is needed pertaining to the nature of the event(s).
The hirer will then be notified and should the booking go ahead the relevant booking forms with the church’s terms and conditions will be sent out.

Facilities
The hall is a child safe environment with a large commercial standard kitchen, fit for full catering and meals for small numbers. There are disabled facilities with wheel chair access. The hall has a white screen for presentations and video projection, performance stage setup with a full lighting rig and PA system. 140 is the maximum capacity for seated guests.
Profits
All profits from the use of the hall are ploughed back into improving the hall’s amenities. The new toilet block, which includes a toilet for disabled people was built in 1999, costing about £45,000. The hall interior was completely redecorated in the summer of 2001, along with the kitchen refurbishment in 2003. The latest undertaking has been the entire roof renovated, which was recently completed in October 2007.
