Weddings

A message from the vicars:

Our wish is to be of help in making your day a day to remember and cherish. Please make an early appointment to ascertain dates and details. Also, please don't hesitate to contact us if there is anything you want to know or discuss with us.

Funerals

Every funeral is a time of painful loss. The funeral service acknowledges this sense of grief and sorrow. But it offers hope and encouragement as well. For it speaks of the resurrection of Jesus and the reality of heaven. And it reminds us that the Lord is with us - offering strength and comfort.

This is the message which the church has to offer you at this time.

But we know that - apart from occasions like this - many people have lost touch with the church. We are also aware that some people are sad about this.

From time to time - and especially at a funeral - deep questions press in upon us all.

- Can we really find God, meaning and love at the centre of our universe? Or do we live in a cold, uncaring world?
- Do we live the life we are given, only to fall off the edge into extinction? Or is there more?
- Is there a God who hears our prayer - or are we talking to ourselves?

The Christian faith does not offer glib answers to these deep questions. But it does bring confidence and hope to millions of ordinary people as they face these issues - and as they live their day to day lives.

At your time of loss, we would like to offer you help in planning a service that will bring both comfort and hope. We have a Pastoral team who offer help to those suffering loss and would be pleased to meet with you. Please do contact us if we can be of help.

Baptisms/Thanksgivings

Baptisms normally take place within our Sunday morning Family Worship. If you would like to find out more or arrange a meeting with one of the Vicars, please contact Pam on 01304 372587 or email: pamrowlinson@stgeorgesdeal.org.uk. We also offer a service of Thanksgiving for parents who don't wish to make the commitment of Baptism but would like to give thanks for their child.
